Cadets of the Military Academy from the department of River Units and representatives of Serbian River Flotilla were guests of the Directorate for Inland Waterways on November 02nd, 2018. On this occasion, the representatives of the Directorate had organized a presentation of current activities implemented by the Directorate in the area of maintenance and improvement of the inland waterways of the Republic of Serbia, with special regards to the importance of the process of hydrographic measurements and technical solutions for improving the navigation conditions on the critical sectors on the Danube River in Serbia. The importance of electronic and paper navigational charts was stated as well as the status of waterway marking system, both relevant for River Units and River Flotilla activities. All presented Plovput`s activities were related to the implementation of international projects co-financed by the EU, which were introduced throught several samples. The guests have had the opportunity to visit the RIS center of the Directorate for Inland waterways, from which the coordination and control of river information services in Serbia is conducted.



The study visit was assessed by students as an outstanding contribution to their current knowledge on navigation on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the technological and professional progress that has been achieved in this field.

The Directorate for Inland Waterways has been organizing for years educational visits like this one for students of different schools and faculties in Serbia, and it will continue to promote these activities.
